Biography of Dr. Michael A. Civin, Ph.D.

Nowadays, Dr. Michael Civin can be found practicing as a senior psychologist at Rose Hill Psychological Services, in the Bronx, in New York City, a firm he co-founded in 2008. At least, he can be found doing that when he is not operating his private practice in other parts of New York City, including Manhattan, Astoria, and Bayville, which he has been doing since 2007. In his private practice, Michael A. Civin, Ph.D. primarily works in the field of psychodiagnostics, but he also practices in the fields of adolescent and adult psychology, as well as group and supervision psychology.
Despite the reality that he has learned a lot by practicing medicine for more than 28 years, Dr. Michael A Civin knew early on that he needed an education to get there in the first place. His education started in 1968 with an A.B. degree cum laude from Harvard. Michael A. Civin attained his first M.A. Degree from the University of Oregon in 1970 and another, in Clinical Psychology, no less from Adelphi University’s Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies. Adelphi also made sure he could be called Michael A. Civin, Ph.D. when they awarded him his doctorate in 1988. Adelphi also awarded him a Postdoctoral Certificate in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in 1993.
Over nearly three decades, Dr. Michael A. Civin has never ceased his pursuit of education in psychology. He has spent a lot of time in the academic world, as well as private practice. At various times, he has been a full professor, associate professor, or even as a faculty member in several institutions of higher learning. His scholarly articles have often been published in medical journals and as chapters in very important books on psychology.
